LODESTONE NOVEMBER 08 MEETING
Weds., Nov. 19
7:30 PM
@Niche
I. LODESTONE AFTER DARK update: The show will be be Dec 11-14 at GTC Burbank and our fundraiser to kick off the tenth season. Thanks to the many Lodestone members who are volunteering to be a part of the show both on stage and behind the scenes. We also have some great celeb. guests who are currently scheduled to perform at one or more of the shows (depending on scheduling conflicts) including Alec Mapa (Ugly Betty), George Takei (Star Trek), Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy), John Cho (Harold and Kumar), Kaba Modern’s Yuri Tag and Fysh N’ Chicks’ Taeko Collins (America’s Top Dance Crew), Gedde Watanabe (Sixteen Candles) and James K. Lee (Heroes) and others we're confirming plus surprises we're saving for the show.
Chil is overseeing the musical numbers and we have about a dozen we'll be rotating through the weekend. Currently sketches are being written/prepared by Prince Gomovilas, the TEN TO LIFE writers, and also contributions from 18 MMW, OPM and Cold Tofu are being planned. Sketches will cover topics ranging from the passing of Prop. 8 to the history of Lodestone to a sneak peek at TEN TO LIFE to an ad comparing EWP and Lodestone (think Mac vs. PC commercials). There will be some really outrageous pieces and you'll see many of the celeb. guests mentioned above doing things you probably will not see them doing again. Thanks also to Henry Chan and Alberto Isaac who will be coming on board to direct some of the sketches.
For those members who have volunteered to be in the show, reminder that you need to be available from Dec. 1 until the end of the show run for rehearsals. As sketches come in, you will be cast in various pieces.
We also ask for everyone's help to get the word out about the show. Every penny we make goes towards the three shows for our tenth and final season so we want to bring in the crowds. All the info is on our website and myspace page. RSVPs can be made at (323) 993-7245. We expect some nights to sell-out so please make sure to RSVP in advance.
